Research Privacy Notice
Status: validation prototype, not a production privacy policy.
What stays on your device
An optional wireless-bill PDF is processed in your browser with PDF.js. DealKeeper does not submit the PDF, the extracted bill text, your carrier password, your name, phone number, address or carrier account number through the research form.
What is submitted for research
When you consent and run an audit, the site submits a small research record containing a pseudonymous participant ID, audit ID, carrier, promotion amount, upfront value if entered, promotion term, bill month, credit amounts, calculated audit status, expected monthly credit, remaining promotional value and the assigned experiment price. If you click “Yes — protect this deal,” a second event records that purchase intent for the same audit. No payment is taken.
Research service provider
Anonymous/pseudonymous research submissions are sent to Formspree, which acts as the form-processing service for this validation study. Like other web services, Formspree may receive ordinary network/request metadata such as IP address, browser headers and timestamps when processing a submission.
Purpose and retention
The data is used only to evaluate whether DealKeeper can reconcile wireless promotions reliably and whether users value ongoing monitoring. Raw first-cohort research submissions are intended to be retained only for the validation period and up to 90 days after the First 30 study closes, after which they should be deleted or reduced to aggregate research statistics.
No credentials or sensitive identifiers
Do not provide carrier usernames, passwords, Social Security numbers, payment-card data or other credentials. This research build does not request them.
Local browser storage
The site stores the assigned price variant, a pseudonymous participant ID and local event history in your browser so the experiment remains consistent across visits. You can clear that data by clearing site storage in your browser.
Third-party code
The prototype loads the open-source PDF.js library from a public CDN in order to read PDF text locally. The selected bill itself is supplied to PDF.js inside your browser.
